  • How to write your Summary of experience and case study  
  • Conduct property inspections and prepare accurate reports and schedules 
  • Select the appropriate measurement tools and basis, and apply best practice to capture accurate data 
  • Identify the correct valuation method for different types of properties and undertake capital valuations and rental valuations. 
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of how various types of property are let/leased and sold 
  • Gain knowledge and understanding of the law and practice relating to landlord and tenant and learn to carry out relevant negotiations to provide solutions to issues affecting both owners and occupiers of real estate

  • End of programme exam

Method of Study

Each technical competence module consists of the following parts:

  • Interactive self-learning: An interactive eLearning presentation provides the fundamental technical content. Content is presented in manageably sized blocks of information, including diagrams and interactive activities.
  • Reading material: Each module has structured essential and complementary reading materials. They can be RICS professional guidelines and standards or drawn from the latest articles and research.
  • Case studies: In each module you will have the opportunity to put into practice what you have learned and your experience through a case study.
  • Consolidation session: This recorded web class consolidates what has been learned in the eLearning module, reading material and case studies.
  • End of Module Questionnaire: A short quiz will help you show that you are ready for the next module.
  • End of Programme Examination: Once all technical modules have been completed, an examination will be taken to test knowledge. A RICS certificate of completion will be awarded upon successful completion.
