The following content provides information for counsellors.

All assessments are conducted through the Assessment Platform, this is where you will review your candidates’ submissions and approval their submission for assessment. We recommend familiarising yourself with the platform’s features and your responsibilities now, so you are fully prepared to support your candidates as they prepare to submit their assessments. The Assessment Platform will send you email notifications when your candidates' submissions are ready for review and approval. However, please note that you don’t need to wait for the email—simply check the platform once your candidates have uploaded their documents.

To see how you can support your candidates through the assessment platform as a counsellor, please view our tutorial video.

Counsellors support documents and guidance

You cannot perform the Counsellor role if you have any active regulatory sanctions, including interim measures, on your membership record. If you are subject to a regulatory investigation whilst acting as a Counsellor, you will be required to suspend practice in this capacity until such time as investigations have been concluded.

The regulatory functions of RICS relating to entry and admission to the profession are led and overseen by Standards and Regulation Board (SRB).
