The UK Freedom of Information Act 2000 provides access to information held by public authorities. As RICS is not a public authority we are not covered by the Act, so it does not give you a right to access to the information we hold.

RICS is covered by the South African Promotion of Access to Information Act 2000 (PAIA), which provides freedom of information rights to individuals.  To find out more, please read our PAIA manual which is available in both English and Afrikaans.

If you want to request the personal information RICS holds about you, most countries provide you with a legal right to access this information.  There may be some exemptions and restrictions based on your local laws, but an overview of this right of access, and how to submit a request can be found in the RICS Privacy Policy.
