Lisvane and Llanishen Reservoirs - Tour, Talk and Paddleboarding

In-Person

Overview

Built in the late-19th century, Lisvane and Llanishen Reservoirs are a Victorian landmark – covering 110 acres of green and blue space and home to amazing flora and fauna.

Owned and operated by Dwr Cymru/Welsh Water, the site underwent a major restoration before reopening to the pubic in July 2023.

This site visit for up to 20 members will include a 30min tour of the reservoirs with a Ranger who will explain more about the ecology of the site before moving into the Visitor Centre for a presentation from Elliot Palmer (BECT) about the challenges of restoring this Grade II listed structure.

Ten brave (or foolhardy) members will also have the opportunity to put on a wetsuit and try their hand at paddleboarding. All equipment will be supplied on site.

Sandwiches and light refreshments will be provided.
