We have been liaising with the Department for Culture, Media & Sport and the local security authorities over the last few weeks to understand how the plans for the upcoming Coronation might affect access to our Great George Street office. Clearly safety and security provisions for such a State event are paramount.

We very much wanted to open the RICS London headquarters on Great George Street on Saturday 6 May for members and staff to use facilities but, after receiving advice from the police on the security arrangements for the Coronation, we are regrettably unable to do so.

This is due to tightened security measures being employed in the immediate surroundings to Great George Street, including Parliament Square, and major restrictions on public access due to our proximity to Westminster Abbey. Pedestrian restrictions in the surrounding areas of Parliament Square will come into effect from 5.00am on 6 May. More information can be found here.
