Following their appointment in October 2021, three 12-month interim leadership roles at RICS have now been reviewed:

  • A vote by RICS Governing Council has determined that Richard Collins, interim CEO, will remain in role beyond his initial 12 month term until a permanent Director General is in post, the process for which is now live.
  • Isobel O’Regan, director at Savills, Ireland, is currently serving as interim Chair of the Management Board. Her term is being extended until 31 December 2022. A new RICS Board will be formed in line with this year’s Bichard RICS Review recommendations. The recruitment for a Chair of RICS Board is currently underway.
  • Nick Maclean, interim Chair of RICS Governing Council, will re-occupy his former Middle East market seat and RICS President Clement Lau will expand his role to chair RICS Governing Council, in accordance with the recommendations made in the Bichard RICS Review.

These updates will ensure progress on both the continued implementation of the Bichard RICS Review and the effective leadership of the Institution, while permanent roles are being recruited and the current President completes his term of office.

“At a time of significant change, I am deeply grateful to Nick, Isobel and Richard for their ongoing leadership and service to the profession. Their continued commitment via their respective roles will help ensure we succeed in our mission to transform RICS as a member-led organisation with public interest at its heart. ”
