Overview
Develop your knowledge and awareness of the essential procedures and techniques involved in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and Conflict Avoidance (CA) with our Foundation Certificate in ADR and CA.
How will I benefit from this course?
This programme will provide you with the knowledge you need to fulfil the requirements of the Alternative Dispute Resolution and Conflict Avoidance Competency. On successful completion of the programme, you will be awarded the RICS Foundation Certificate in ADR and CA which reflects this.
Trainee engineers, architects, solicitors, barristers, claims managers, project managers, facilities managers, construction specialists and many others will all benefit from acquiring a relevant formal qualification, as well as being able to demonstrate to potential employers that they have a clear understanding of the increasingly important ADR and CA field in the built environment.
Courts around the world increasingly require parties to use ADR before litigation. Surveyors need a solid understanding of how ADR operates in land, property and construction to advise their clients properly. Failure to do so can lead to judicial criticism, which is professionally damaging.
If your professional work touches on land, property and construction, or any other aspects of the built environment, this programme provides you with a quick and comprehensive insight into how ADR works in the sector and how you and your clients can benefit from using it.
Essential knowledge
Crucially, this course is not just for dispute resolvers: it is for all built environment, legal and related professionals and trainees. ADR & CA knowledge is a mandatory requirement for all RICS APC candidates; and all established professionals, irrespective of discipline, need a solid grounding in the subject when dealing with clients and in any work that could involve legal or contentious matters.
