UK Regional Boards are an integral part of the RICS governance structure, facilitating a multi-way flow of information between the central RICS, World Regional Board, and members. 

Boards also work closely with the UK market team to advise and support engagement activities tailored to the specific priorities of the region.

Dr Amrit Sagoo MRICS

Head of Department, Construction Management and Quantity Surveying, Nottingham Trent University

Dr Sagoo leads a department of over 40 lecturing staff who in turn are responsible for over 900 undergraduate students; 200 taught postgraduate students, and more than 200 students completing a distance learning on-line Master’s degree. In addition, the Department supervises over 20 PhDs. He has responsibility for maintaining the department’s learning, teaching, research and commercial activities. Building on the department’s broad church of expertise and longstanding industrial relationships, Dr Sagoo ensures that that the department remains innovative, relevant and future facing in a rapidly changing sector. Dr Sagoo is an active RICS Assessment of Professional Competence assessor for both practitioners and academics. Additionally, he sits on numerous external and internal committees.

Guy Barwell

MRICS

Guy has been involved in RICS groups for the last 15 years, initially he was involved with RICS Matrics, which supports new members entering the profession, and chaired the RICS Derbyshire Committee from 2016 – 2018. He has been on the East Midlands Board since 2019 and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Chartered Institute of Building, and the Chartered Association of Building Engineers. Guy has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry and has worked in various roles as a Chartered building surveyor. He has been an APC assessor for the Building Surveying pathway as well as an APC councillor to members. Guy enjoys working with the next generation of surveyors as well encouraging and promoting the interests of the region’s property professionals. Guy has been involved with the RICS’ Future Talents Team who promote the profession to students through interactive workshops and seminars at schools. He has also undertaken visits to schools and universities including and careers fairs to help promote interest in the profession.

Phillip Holden MRICS

Phillip is a Chartered Surveyor and the founder of the Company. He has over 20 years experience working within Contracting and Client / Developer / Govt. Organisations in commercial/claims and project management roles in the United Kingdom and the Middle East on a wide range of projects including infrastructure, mixed use developments, power and renewable energy and marine schemes.

Clare Johnson FRICS

Deputy Head of Profession, Valuation Office Agency

Clare has been a Chartered Surveyor for over 30 years and has a broad range of experience in valuation and public sector asset management. She is also an experienced learning professional, having held both delivery and leadership roles in this area. She has expertise in the various routes to RICS qualification, including experience of developing new qualifications and implementation of surveying development programmes within the VOA and across other government departments. In her current role of Deputy Head of the Surveying Profession on the VOA, Clare has oversight of over 400 surveying apprentices, graduates and work placement students. Clare is a member of the Government Property Profession Board and is the VOA RICS Responsible Principal. Clare is also passionate about supporting and encouraging the next generation of surveyors, particularly in attracting a much more diverse range of people to the profession, creating opportunities for people who wouldn’t otherwise have access to a career in surveying and enabling social mobility. More widely, Clare is a Magistrate, a Leicester Tigers season ticket holder and enjoys collecting art nouveau ceramics, glass and metal art.

Ruth Redmond MRICS

Senior Building Surveyor, Edward Cooper Young Chartered Surveyors

Ruth is currently a Senior Building Surveyor at Edward Cooper Young Chartered Surveyors and joined the East Midlands Regional Board in 2022. Ruth has also been a visiting lecturer at Birmingham City University and actively involved with RICS with local committees and as an APC assessor.

Matthew Siddons AssocRICS

Head of Recruitment, e.surv Chartered Surveyors

Matthew is Head of Recruitment for e.surv Chartered Surveyors based in Kettering. He manages a small team responsible for recruitment across the business but with focus on surveying careers and maintaining a 600+ RICS accredited surveyor resource. He has worked across Surveying, estate agency and financial services in a 12 year career with LSL property services. Passionate about residential property and pathology, Matthew pursued the Sava Diploma in 2019, qualifying in 2022, which enabled direct entry as an Associate member of the RICS. Outside of the profession Matthew is a family man, married with twin daughters and a son. On the rare occasion he has spare time, he enjoys property renovation and likes to think that one day he will self build. Matthew joined the RICS East Midlands board team in Jan 2023.

Nicola Zadrozny MRICS

Nicola is Director of a RICS Regulated and Propertymark accredited practice specialising in the sales, management and valuation of commercial and residential property in and around the Nottingham area. She is a Chartered Valuation Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer. Nicola was appointed to the East MIdlands Regioanl Board in 2023.

Darren Fabris MRICS

Darren is a Chartered Surveyor with over 20 years of experience in corporate real estate, asset and facilities management across public and private sectors. He has held the position of Property Director at the Carlton Forest Group and prior to that was the Head of Property Service Delivery for the Kier Group. In 2008/2009 Darren was the RICS Matrics Lincolnshire Chairman and has been an RICS Awards judge for the East Midlands region since 2015. Darren is also a Director and Company Secretary at East Midlands Community Led Housing – a not for profit organisation that offers services to communities, landowners and local authorities. Darren was appointed to the RICS East Midlands board in April 2024.

Darren Pape MRICS

Associate, Kirkby Diamond

Darren has lived in Northamptonshire all his life but qualified as a Chartered Valuation Surveyor in 2009, working in Oxford and providing valuation advice to private and public sector clients for a range of purposes including secured lending, taxation, company accounts, local authority accounts and managed office and industrial parks in Oxfordshire. He first started working in Milton Keynes in 2013, specialising in the valuation of retail, office industrial and mixed-use properties for secured lending purposes and undertaking development appraisals, and has since worked for firms in Northamptonshire and Leicestershire, broadening his valuation skills. Darren joined Kirkby Diamond in 2021 and has a wealth of experience of valuing properties across the northern Home Counties, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire and East Anglia. In his spare time, Darren coaches his local junior football team and is a keen cyclist.

Sirah Parkes FRICS

Senior Regional Managing Surveyor, SDL Surveying

Sirah is a Senior Managing Surveyor at SDL Surveying, part of the MSS Group. She is a Fellow and an RICS Ambassador and has a deep belief in education, social and economic mobility for all. She has been a Chartered Surveyor for over 25 years, starting in Commercial practice, moving through development, Landlord and Tenant, and now working within a management team for 120 surveyors in the residential sector. Sirah was an integral part of the development team for the iPad technology that is now widely adopted to produce RICS compliant bank lending site note capture and reporting. She was also part of the team for the Level 2 iPad technology that is now used across the residential valuation and survey sector. She is an active advocate for Equality, Diversity and Professional exacting standards. Sirah sees her new role as a board member, as an opportunity to engage with the wider regional RICS Members and those currently outside the profession.

Lizzie Rosewell MRICS

Technical Director, Henry Riley

Lizzie qualified as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in 2009 and is currently a Technical Director at Henry Riley, where she leads a team of Independent Monitoring Surveyors providing project monitoring and technical due diligence services to Banks and other funding organisations across a range of sectors. Lizzie is passionate about improving the diversity of the surveying profession and is a member of the Working Group for Women in Surveying. Outside the profession, Lizzie enjoys running ultramarathons, skiing, reading and travel.

Chris Tutin MRICS

Technical Director, Gateley RJA

Chris is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Technical Director for GateleyRJA. He is also an RICS APC Counsellor and CIOB Mentor. He has worked in development and construction in the East Midlands for 20 years and his current role sees him oversee the Nottingham Residential team for GateleyRJA providing EA, PM and CoW services for clients nationwide. Chris is a keen cyclist and Nottingham Forest fan. He was appointed to the East Midlands board in 2024.

Graham has been with RICS since 2012, the majority of this time has been spent working in a member engagement role. He is currently the Market Engagement Lead for the Midlands and South West regions (including the Channel Islands), working in partnership with the regional boards and local member groups to deliver a tailored plan of engagement and advocacy activity.
