Course information

The neighbourhood of Finsbury Park, Islington, in North London has seen a considerable transformation in recent years. There are plans to continue its regeneration efforts and increase densities around the stations considerably. Join us for an hour-long journey through its current state, and hear about a vision and draft design codes developed by the local community under the National Design Code Pathfinder Programme. The draft code, focused on the Station Quarter, makes a start in unlocking the area's potential and offers an optimistic outlook on what the future may hold.

In this session, we are thrilled to welcome Angela Koch, the founder of ImaginePlaces, the organisation entrusted by the Finsbury Park Neighbourhood Forum with crafting design codes for the Finsbury Park Station Quarter. Angela will guide us through a captivating narrative, unveiling the step-by-step evolution of design codes. Learn firsthand about the positive engagement with local stakeholders, considering financial viability, and the strategic transformation of urban landscapes like Finsbury Park Station Quarter into a healthy and greener, culturally, economically, and socially vibrant place, working better for its diverse existing communities while growing in population considerably.

This webinar provides a unique opportunity to gather insights and engage with Angela Koch, an industry-leading co-designer, planner, and urban designer. Gain an understanding of the priorities in creating the design codes and discover practical solutions for the real-world challenges that often accompany substantial complex urban projects.
