Overview
Eurocode 7 plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, serviceability, durability, and economy of any work involving the ground, and through CEN provides a unified approach to geotechnical engineering across Europe. It has recently been revised and this webinar will illustrate an important addition to the former Code viz. the mandatory requirement to provide a Ground Model to supplement the existing Geotechnical Design Model.
Any member advising clients on schemes that involve the ground, especially work requiring foundations, basements, embankments, cuttings, groundwater management and similar, should now be aware of what is required by a Ground Model, the skills required to generate such a model and how such a model should be used. This knowledge is essential for ensuring compliance with the latest standards and enhancing the safety and effectiveness of geotechnical projects.
Learning outcomes
This webinar will illustrate what is meant by a Ground Model, why it has now been included as a requirement in EC7, what it should contain, how it services the Geotechnical Design Model, the training required to provide such a model, how the Ground Model should be used, and from where such a model can be safely obtained.
