Overview
AI will be able to help landowners with regulatory compliance with regards to biodiversity and conservation. There are many complicated planning laws that are centred around Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) which can be dealt with more productively through utilising AI programs. With data to do with environmental factors typically being unstructured, it often hinders planning decisions which makes it crucial to integrate AI into the process to help both planning applicants and officials.
In addition, a major issue to undertake BNG projects is a skills shortage with a study commissioned by DEFRA showing that over 90% of respondents across 192 planning authorities stated that they have a lack of capacity. This webinar will explore how this inadequacy in expertise and resources has a knock-on effect that could lead to the non-fulfilment of newer legislation and how AI tools can help bridge this gap.
