This training is aimed at those who wish to know more about compulsory purchase, understand the key legislation that supports the use of compulsory purchase powers, and understand how compensation is arrived at for those whose land / property is subject to the threat of compulsory purchase / compulsory purchase.
You will understand what key pieces of legislation govern compulsory purchase in England, how to approach the negotiation of and calculation of a claim and the practicalities of same and how to deal with any disputes that may arise.
You will also gain an insight into the mandatory elements of the RICS Professional Standard “Surveyors advising in respect of compulsory purchase and statutory compensation” which governs this area of practice and gain an overview of the soft skills needed to ensure professionalism in this area of practice.
