Overview
The 2024 Policy Address outlined a strategic direction for fostering the development of the Low-altitude Economy (LAE). This initiative is envisioned to have broad applications across various sectors, thereby stimulating growth in multiple industries and invigorating Hong Kong’s economy. The 2025-26 Budget announced in February 2025 further illustrated the government’s ambition on the LAE development.
Apart from the performance of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (or known as Drone), geo-intelligence plays a crucial role in the LAE development. The extensive adoption of geo-intelligence in the LAE, such as Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and 3D Digital Map, not only enhances the efficiency and safety of low-altitude activities but also paves the way for sustainable growth, innovation, and economic prosperity.
Jack Zhang, being a Geomatics Surveyor and expertise in leveraging geo-intelligence, will provide insights on the planning, mapping, analyzing and monitoring of the low-altitude activities from geospatial perspective.
