Join us for the next free member session in Qatar, where we have a full and diverse programme for your CPD member session. Aside of gaining formal CPD, this will also be a great opportunity to catch up with other Qatar based professionals. Please note this event will take place at a new venue Millennium Plaza Doha.
The first topic will cover “The Hidden Side of Negotiation” by Daniel Glasswell, where he will share his knowledge of negotiation strategies and the psychology behind them and how the language we use in a negotiation can make or break a deal. The presentation and Q & A will cover important knowledge which many Quantity Surveyors will use on a daily basis as they negotiate variation prices and final accounts.
The second topic will address “Basic Fire Safety Awareness Training” with a practical demonstration of fire extinguishers by Adrian Tan, General Manager – CBM Qatar LLC. The session will debunk common fire safety myths and provide best fire prevention best practices for everyday life. The outline of the presentation will cover:
- Basics about Fire
- How does fire spread?
- How do you combat different types of fire?
- Common causes of fire, especially in Qatar
- Fire Prevention Best Practices
Finally, the evening will also provide plenty of opportunities to network with fellow professionals operating in Qatar with a networking dinner provided afterwards.

Adrian Tan MRICS
General Manager, CBM Qatar LLC
Adrian joined CBM in 2017 and was appointed as CBM Qatar’s General Manager to oversee the company in Qatar. He is a Chartered Surveyor in Facilities Management (MRICS) of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and currently sits on the RICS Qatar Advisory Board. He is an Investor and Advisory Board Member of Skydrops ... Sustainable Water Technologies (Qatar). Adrian is one of the co-founders of the Singapore Business Council in Qatar. Adrian is also a registered global mentor under the National University of Singapore’s prestigious NUS Global Mentorship and Uplift Programme to guide graduating students into the working world.
