Overview

Join us for the next free member session in Qatar, where we have a full and diverse programme for your CPD member session. Aside of gaining formal CPD, this will also be a great opportunity to see what RICS activities are in store for 2025 and catch up with other Qatar based professionals before year end.

The first topic will be "The Impact of Qatar's Sustainability Transition on Real Estate Investment Strategies”. This will be a keynote presentation from Knight Frank’s Partner and Head of ESG, Wesley Thomson, where he will delve into how real estate investment in Qatar is evolving as the country embraces sustainability. As Qatar advances towards its Vision 2030 goals, adopting sustainable practices has become essential for investors and developers—not just a checkbox. Attendees can expect valuable insights into the latest trends in sustainable real estate, the role of green certifications, the benefits of eco-friendly practices and explore the investment strategies that align with Qatar’s vision for a greener future.

The second topic will be on the nature of disruption. Disruption is one of the primary claims on construction projects but is notoriously the most difficult to assess and succeed in. Andrew Fallon MRICS, Director at Quantum Global Solutions will provide a better understanding surrounding the elements of a disruption claim and how to better assess the disruption suffered. The presentation will address:

  • Where does disruption fit alongside typical claims for prolongation and extension of time?
  • What are the details required and how can disruption be measured?
  • Why do Disruption claims typically fail?

Finally, the evening will also provide plenty of opportunities to network with fellow professionals operating in Qatar over a 1 hour networking reception with canapes and beverages.
