Overview of 2024 event

The RICS Building Surveying Conference, which is the most popular and established UK event in the industry, will remain an in-person conference for the 2024 edition, following its success in 2023.  It will focus on preparing Building Surveyors for the latest regulatory updates and commercial property trends and forecasting, which will support the profession in remaining compliant and continuing to thrive in a challenging market.

Three concurrent breakouts will focus on the key upcoming priorities for the profession, from the latest standards and sector updates to guidance and best practice examples from specialist fields and innovation.

This conference delivers case studies and essential updates from a range of specialisms including, dilapidations, party walls, building conservation, rights of light, retrofitting and sustainability. Furthermore, small firms, solo practitioners and large organisations all have access to dedicated CPD, whether your interest is in PII and practice management or focused more on looking at diversity in the workplace and team leadership.

Today the profession is presented with its greatest opportunity to make a strong impact on public safety and the future of our communities. New competencies are needed, new safety roles will be required, and new guidance and professional standards will need to be followed to ensure they continue to deliver on their responsibilities towards clients.
