Software Validation

RICS is currently piloting software validation for WLCA, auditing third party software with a view to award a badge yearly upon successful validation and re-validation.

As part of the validation process, checks are carried out:

to ensure that the software receives inputs appropriately and performs calculations according to the mandatory requirement of WLCA
to ensure that the software outputs are aligned with the WLCA reporting template in an acceptable digital format

For info: software under the scheme has been assessed by RICS as one that allows the end user to generate a report relating to compliance with the RICS WLCA professional standard but does not offer any guarantees about the software itself.

We’ll release more information on the pilot once it has concluded.

Assurance and advisory

RICS offers bespoke assurance and advisory services to organisations to help streamline and accelerate the adoption and implementation of WLCA. Using an implementation roadmap, we guide organisations on the workflow, process, data, and digitalisation needed for WLCA. This service can also be combined with bespoke training.
