Principal Designer Services

RICS has published in 2022 a new edition of their RICS Forms of Consultant’s Appointment, which are intended to be used by clients. Members and others involved in the appointment of surveyors are encouraged to use these forms when considering surveyors for a wide variety of different disciplines within the construction process and related fields.

Principal Designer Services provides a comprehensive set of those surveyor services present for Principal Designer Services under the CDM 2015 Regulations. These are not the same as Principal Designer (Building Regulations) services under the Building Safety Act 2022 (a Form of Consultant’s Appointment for this is in development for publication in 2025).
