Accelerating decarbonisation across the land and building life cycle
Returning for its seventh year, the World Built Environment Forum’s annual global gathering once again enabled participants to engage in pivotal discussions about the future of our built and natural environment. This event united influential leaders and visionaries from around the globe, providing a unique platform to shape the trajectory of our world's cities, climate, and biodiversity.
The urgency of decarbonising the sector and improving environmental impacts was a central theme. This transformation promises to revolutionise every aspect of business, investment, work, and life. However, in the face of economic uncertainty and a deepening affordability crisis, the challenge lay in rapidly implementing solutions that are practical, investable, and business-compatible.
Over four days, WBEF Week 2024 offered participants a comprehensive view of how evolving standards, policies, investments, data, and technology are reshaping energy, infrastructure, and the entire life cycle of land and buildings. The event ended with practical strategies for building public and investor trust in new solutions, setting the stage for a sustainable future.
