Update on the development of Professional Group Panels (PGPs)

Following the RICS Governing Council approval of the recommendation from the Bichard RICS Review to establish the Professional Group Panels, the appointments process for the PGP Chairs is underway with interviews taking place across 4 of the Professional Groups in July and August.

Upcoming implementation milestones:

August – Sep 2023

• Knowledge and Practice Committee Members & PGP Chairs appointed.
• Member positions for the PGPs advertised

October 2023

• PGP Chairs appoint members of each panel (between 10 – 12 appointments).

November- Dec 2023

• PGPs convene for the first time.

We will regularly review this timeline and update members as we move through the appointments process.

A paper-based selection process is proposed for the members of the PGPs to ensure that this process is completed in an efficient, transparent, and clear manner. The chairs of the PGPs, who will also sit on the Knowledge and Practice Committee, will be appointed in accordance with the Global Appointments Model (GAM).
