Parties can use the details of a dispute resolver to help resolve a variety of issues using alternative dispute resolution methods DRS provide such as arbitration, mediation and expert determination.
Parties retain full control of their dispute DRS can select the names of professional dispute resolvers independently so that the parties can choose who to contact and agree to use them.
Either party can apply, or parties can jointly apply for the names of impartial and experienced dispute resolvers to support them with their potential issue.
DRS will provide up to three dispute resolvers to allow for parties to independently agree a dispute resolver. Parties can then agree on the most suitable professional for their dispute and will be able to contact the dispute resolver to set their requirements and ensure that the person is available and free from conflict of interest. A fee of £180 ( inc VAT) is charged for this service
To apply for the contact details of three potentially suitable dispute resolvers, complete and return request for contact details of third-party dispute resolvers application form to RICS. The application fee is £180 (inclusive of VAT).
