RICS members live and work in major cities around the globe, including melting pots of diverse cultures in the United Kingdom, Europe and the Americas. Given this, we should expect higher representation of global ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds in the membership. However, current data does not reflect these expectations, and the surveying industry must do more to represent the communities it serves. Studies consistently show that diversity improves business performance and outcomes, increases innovation and leads to happier, healthier workforces. Through events, surveys and insights reports, RICS will highlight existing inequities, and provide guidance on fostering a more diverse, equitable and inclusive profession where everyone can thrive and achieve their full potential.
