On 4 November 2024, the Construction 2050 Alliance, of which RICS is a proud member, addressed a letter to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The correspondence comes ahead of the European Parliament hearings for the newly appointed Commissioner-designates and aligns with the political priorities outlined in President von der Leyen’s second-term mandate.

In the letter, the Alliance underscored the construction sector’s unwavering commitment to being a pivotal partner in addressing Europe’s housing and sustainability challenges. The Alliance also expressed its strong support for the strategic directions outlined in the political guidelines for the European Commission’s 2024–2029 mandate and acknowledged the attention the Commission has afforded to the construction industry.

The Construction 2050 Alliance remains dedicated to ensuring that policymakers fully recognise and support the indispensable role the construction sector plays in building a sustainable, resilient, and prosperous future for Europe.

This initiative reflects the Alliance's ongoing commitment to fostering collaboration between industry stakeholders and policymakers to deliver on Europe’s ambitious goals.
