The successful teams and individuals of this year’s Awards were announced and celebrated at a formal ceremony held at Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel on 23 October.
All entries demonstrate industry leading achievements and show the highest standards of professionalism across the built environment in Southeast Asia.
It was also our honour to announce Dr Ong See Lian FRICS as the recipient of the most prestigious award for built environment professionals, the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Dr. Ong is currently the Director and Strategic Advisor of Turner & Townsend based at its office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Dr. Ong has an illustrious career spanning over 50 years in both the public and private sectors. He was the Senior Partner of Davis Langdon & Seah / JUBM until his retirement at the end of 2010.
In addition to his illustrious career, Dr. Ong is also a major player in the construction industry providing leadership and support in the development of the profession.
He was the President of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia, RISM (2003 – 2004) and Chairman of PAQS (2003 to 2005).
He was also the 130th Global President of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, RICS (2011-2012), the first for any non-British passport holder.
Dr. Ong was Chairman of the Standard Setting Committee of International Construction Measurement Standard (ICMS) from 2015 to 2019 and was responsible for the publication of ICMS-1 (2017) and ICMS-2 (2019).
He is a much sought after speaker and have delivered papers on various topics relating to the industry at many international conferences around the globe. In recognition of his immense contributions to the construction industry and the surveying profession, Dr. Ong has received numerous awards including the “Surveyor of the Year” by RISM, “PAQS Gold Medal” by PAQS, “Most Prominent Player in the Construction Industry” by CIDB Malaysia, CIDB Fellowship, Gold Award by Board of QS Malaysia, the “David Bucknall Award” by RICS, RICS President’s Medal and most recently the Lifetime Achievement Award by Malaysian Professional Centre, an umbrella body for more than 25 professional institutions in Malaysia.

Sentosa Sensoryscape Project
Sentosa Sensoryscape, is an attraction that has embraced nature-inspired architecture with technology to offer an immersive physical experience to visitors. Located centrally on Sentosa, the vast 30,000-square-meter Sentosa Sensoryscape connects Resorts World Sentosa in the north to the island’s southern beaches via a walkway adorned with six sensory gardens that feature soundscapes, interactive digital light art and some augmented reality (AR) features. It is a very unique and bespoke project that has little repetition built into the design, but plenty of complexity. Sentosa project team made the decision to approach this job with a DfMA mindset.

This is a nomination for Benyatip Manajitt, Digital Lead Consultant at Aurecon Consulting Thailand, for the Woman of the Built Environment Award for her pioneering work in developing digital construction standards (BIM) for Magnolia Quality Development Corporation (MQDC), creating one of Thailand’s first comprehensive BIM Execution Plan. We also implemented advanced construction technology tools and techniques to stay at the forefront of the industry. Achieve Higher Efficiency | CBM Solutions
CBM Solutions, a subsidiary under CBM, exceeded the expectations of City Developments Limited (CDL), as they were commissioned to implement energy-saving opportunities for the 148 air-conditioning systems found in Singapore’s towering Republic Plaza. By leveraging on emerging technologies and focusing on replacing the moving parts of each AHU, the company was able to substantially save S$5 million and reduce 380 tonnes of CO2 annually, among other tangible improvements. Their success has overflown to other CDL properties, further engaging other facilities like Palais Renaissance and City Square Mall with similar energy-saving endeavors.
