We are delighted to confirm the Winners of RICS Southeast Asia Awards 2024.
The successful teams and individuals of this year’s Awards were announced and celebrated at a formal ceremony held at Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel on 23 October.
All entries demonstrate industry leading achievements and show the highest standards of professionalism across the built environment in Southeast Asia.
It was also our honour to announce Dr Ong See Lian FRICS as the recipient of the most prestigious award for built environment professionals, the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Dr Ong See Lian FRICS
Dr. Ong is currently the Director and Strategic Advisor of Turner & Townsend based at its office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Dr. Ong has an illustrious career spanning over 50 years in both the public and private sectors. He was the Senior Partner of Davis Langdon & Seah / JUBM until his retirement at the end of 2010.
In addition to his illustrious career, Dr. Ong is also a major player in the construction industry providing leadership and support in the development of the profession.
He was the President of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia, RISM (2003 – 2004) and Chairman of PAQS (2003 to 2005).
He was also the 130th Global President of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, RICS (2011-2012), the first for any non-British passport holder.
Dr. Ong was Chairman of the Standard Setting Committee of International Construction Measurement Standard (ICMS) from 2015 to 2019 and was responsible for the publication of ICMS-1 (2017) and ICMS-2 (2019).
He is a much sought after speaker and have delivered papers on various topics relating to the industry at many international conferences around the globe. In recognition of his immense contributions to the construction industry and the surveying profession, Dr. Ong has received numerous awards including the “Surveyor of the Year” by RISM, “PAQS Gold Medal” by PAQS, “Most Prominent Player in the Construction Industry” by CIDB Malaysia, CIDB Fellowship, Gold Award by Board of QS Malaysia, the “David Bucknall Award” by RICS, RICS President’s Medal and most recently the Lifetime Achievement Award by Malaysian Professional Centre, an umbrella body for more than 25 professional institutions in Malaysia.

Seven years into his career, Adrian Teng, Cost Manager at Linesight, is already making his mark on the construction industry. Adrian believes Emerging Achievers have a critical role in driving generative AI adoption and digital transformation in industry. As a champion for innovation, Adrian is passionate about finding new ways to navigate the complexities of budgeting and maximize value for clients through digital transformation. He is also an advocate for professional development and reverse mentorship, proactively leading the implementation and training of digital solutions, including the use of BIM, to make significant contributions in the built environment.

The CapitaLand Innovation Fund was set up in 2021 with a S$50 million commitment over five years to support the testbedding of innovations in the built environment space, with a strong focus on sustainability. It also hopes to source for solutions that will help us meet CapitaLand’s sustainability goals. The three main innovation pillars of CIF are CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge, the Smart Urban Co-Innovation Lab and the CIF internal problem statements call for innovations. To date, it has committed to support 72 pilot projects globally, out of which 33 are sustainability related.

With CPGFM as the Managing Agent for 17 years, AMK has seen significant improvements, including elderly-friendly initiatives and large-scale rejuvenation projects like the AMK Town Centre. Recognised as one of Singapore’s greenest towns, AMK focuses on sustainability with park connectors, community gardens, and green roofs. CPGFM’s innovative dementia-friendly projects and modern amenities cater to diverse needs, enhancing the living environment and setting benchmarks in urban management. Their efforts reflect a commitment to community and sustainable practices.

Sentosa Sensoryscape Project
Sentosa Sensoryscape, is an attraction that has embraced nature-inspired architecture with technology to offer an immersive physical experience to visitors. Located centrally on Sentosa, the vast 30,000-square-meter Sentosa Sensoryscape connects Resorts World Sentosa in the north to the island’s southern beaches via a walkway adorned with six sensory gardens that feature soundscapes, interactive digital light art and some augmented reality (AR) features. It is a very unique and bespoke project that has little repetition built into the design, but plenty of complexity. Sentosa project team made the decision to approach this job with a DfMA mindset.

They’ve provided valuable insights to the industry and the RICS community, worthy of being titled the Property Management team of the year.

Datuk Sr Paul Khong is the Group MD of Savills (Malaysia) and Country Head under Savills PLC. He is a Registered Valuer & Estate Agent, Chartered Surveyor, and Licensed Auctioneer. Datuk Paul, specialises in Corporate Agency and Valuations, has 30 years of professional experience in the property industry. He undertakes major litigation valuations and has done corporate exercises for submissions to various Securities Commission (Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong) for various purposes including new IPOs and RTOs. Throughout his professional career, he has concluded sales transaction worth more than RM10 billion and has contributed over 800 articles & commentaries in prominent press.

Under the leadership of Teh Young Khean, Knight Frank Malaysia successfully led a Stay Vs Go project for a global financial company occupying approximately 150,000 sq ft in KL Sentral. As the exclusive Tenant Representative, the team leveraged market sentiment, sustainability knowledge, landlord relationships, and the client’s brand presence to deliver significant savings of approximately RM13 million over two tenancy terms of 3-years. They negotiated tenancy flexibility and secured an additional 50,000 sq ft for approximately 1,000 employees under favorable terms, showcasing his commitment to client needs and excellence in real estate.

Wai Kien is a dedicated professional known for his meticulous attention to detail and commitment, which have consistently enhanced the outcomes of his projects.
In managing a significant dispute for his client in a national andmark project, he demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise, orchestrating a settlement that saved both parties approximately RM40 million in potential costs.
His proactive and strategic approach averted a lengthy legal process and contributed to the on-time delivery of the project which benefited the public

Kit Ying’s career at Asia Infrastructure Solutions Singapore Pte Ltd has been marked by her dedication and growth, leading to her current role as an Executive Senior Quantity Surveyor. Notably, her involvement in the new Emergency Medicine Building at the Singapore General Hospital showcases her commitment to learning, collaboration, and value addition in cost and contract management. Her contributions also extend beyond the workplace, as she is a published author, with co-authored journal articles focusing on innovative and cleaner approaches in Prefabricated Pre-finished Volumetric Construction featured on platforms like ScienceDirect.

The Nyalindung project transforms 85 hectares of degraded rubber plantation into a biodiverse agritourism site through advanced syntropic farming. By introducing 30+ plant species and sustainable water management techniques, the project enhances soil health and biodiversity. It features passive building design, energy-efficient systems, onsite renewable energy, rainwater harvesting, and wastewater recycling. A community-focused waste facility reduces landfill waste while fostering local economic opportunities through the creation of higher-value products. Eco-Mantra’s commitment to sustainability, climate resilience, and community engagement is highlighted by significant reductions in carbon emissions and resource consumption, setting a new standard for integrated environmental management in sustainable development

The team has proudly conducted themselves professionally and proactively and has been instrumental in working closely with the Client and Stakeholders to collaborate and be in sync throughout this journey. Despite the scale of the project and the challenges encountered, AIS provided the leadership with support from all parties involved in overcoming any obstacles and steering the way to ensure on-time and successful completion of the project.

Datuk Sr Firdaus Musa, Founder and Executive Chairman of Firdaus Associates Group Holdings, transformed his property consultancy from a small outfit in 1998 into a thriving organisation with 800 staff. His leadership and expertise, underscored by an honors degree in Urban Real Estate Management from Kingston University, London, and multiple professional certifications, have shaped industry standards. As President of FIABCI and with roles in PEPS and BOVAEP, he influences policy and education in real estate. Quantity Solutions Inc is the quantity surveyor of St Lukes Medical Center, the biggest hospital project in the Philippines. The company was founded in 2008 and has completed more than 630 projects worldwide. St Lukes Medical Center (SLMC) is recognised as the leading and most respected healthcare institution in the Philippines. It is the first hospital in the Philippines that is accredited by Joint Commission International and has also certified it as an Academic Medical Center Hospital. SLMC was recognised and listed as one of the top 20 Best Hospitals Worldwide by the Diplomatic Council of Europe in 2014.
Benyatip Manajitt
Lead Consultant, Digital, Aurecon Consulting (Thailand)
This is a nomination for Benyatip Manajitt, Digital Lead Consultant at Aurecon Consulting Thailand, for the Woman of the Built Environment Award for her pioneering work in developing digital construction standards (BIM) for Magnolia Quality Development Corporation (MQDC), creating one of Thailand’s first comprehensive BIM Execution Plan. At Aurecon, she established and leads the Information Management Network, enhancing collaboration and project delivery. Benyatip is also the Thailand regional lead for a global network, Women in BIM, where she empowers women in making game-changing contributions to the digital development of the built environment.

Asia Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) was engaged by the Housing Development Board to provide project management consultancy services for the public housing project Punggol Point Woods. This development comprises six residential blocks ranging from 5 to 22 storeys and a total of 940 flats. AIS was responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Building Contract. We also implemented advanced construction technology tools and techniques to stay at the forefront of the industry. The project’s attainment of the BCA Green Mark Gold Plus Award and Active, Beautiful, Clear Waters Certification reflects our commitment to sustainability, as evident in our work.

Achieve Higher Efficiency | CBM Solutions
CBM Solutions, a subsidiary under CBM, exceeded the expectations of City Developments Limited (CDL), as they were commissioned to implement energy-saving opportunities for the 148 air-conditioning systems found in Singapore’s towering Republic Plaza. By leveraging on emerging technologies and focusing on replacing the moving parts of each AHU, the company was able to substantially save S$5 million and reduce 380 tonnes of CO2 annually, among other tangible improvements. Their success has overflown to other CDL properties, further engaging other facilities like Palais Renaissance and City Square Mall with similar energy-saving endeavors.
