RICS Matrics Birmingham: Seminar - Workplace Fit-Out Typologies and Sustainable Design in Practice

We are pleased to invite you to join RICS Matrics Birmingham for an upcoming seminar and networking evening, kindly hosted by OP and CBRE at the newly completed CBRE Birmingham office in 3 Chamberlain Square.

The session will provide a practical exploration of workplace design and the range of office fit-out typologies, drawing on OP’s experience delivering projects for both landlords and occupiers. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of Cat A, Cat A+ and Cat B fit-outs, and how design intent evolves through each stage of a project, from initial concept to delivery on site.

A key focus of the session will be the role of sustainability and ESG within modern workplace requirements and design. OP will demonstrate how environmental considerations are embedded throughout the design and fit-out process, influencing everything from material selection and procurement strategies to long-term building performance. Alongside this, the session will explore how wellbeing is increasingly shaping design decisions, with insights into how workplaces can better support health, inclusivity and employee experience.

The presentation will be supported by a live case study of the CBRE office, offering attendees the opportunity to see how these principles are applied in practice. Subject to availability, this will be complemented by a guided walkthrough of the space, allowing attendees to experience the design, materiality and workplace strategy first-hand.

The event will begin at 18:00 for an hour, followed by networking and refreshments.
